J.A. Uniforms Lauded for Its Hotel and Valet Apparel
by Alex ArencibiaIt’s been said that competition is a consumer’s best friend. It promotes innovations in design and function and is often credited with keeping prices in check.
Since 1978 the uniform industry has fostered competition through its Image of the Year Awards, an honor recognizing preeminent workplace-apparel programs. Staged last week during the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors’ annual convention, this year’s awards ceremony was largely no different – apart from a new face at the podium.
Yes, yours truly.
J.A. Uniforms was awarded with its first Image of the Year Award. Recognizing the functionality, innovation, branding and design of uniforms for a hotel with multiple locations, the award was a nod to our apparel work for the Pullman Miami Airport Hotel and Pullman San Francisco Bay Hotel.
Our work on behalf of Towne Park Valet was also recognized. Here, we were named a finalist in the category for service and industrial companies.
A long time in the making, the recognitions were at once energizing and thought-provoking. On the one hand, there’s the adrenaline rush. Think Cuban coffee on an empty stomach. Simultaneously, there’s the sudden realization that the bar has been raised. There’s no time for resting on one’s laurels.
The challenge, of course, is how to continue adding value to our growing family of hotel and valet customers while preserving the principles and practices that fueled J.A. Uniform’s success. Quality control, for example, must remain in synch with growth.
Fortunately, this discussion has been underway for some time now.
With the Image of the Year Award fresh in my mind, I find myself rolling up my sleeves, literally and figuratively. There’s work to be done and J.A. Uniforms is up to the challenge!
